Crafting Simplicity from Complexity

When Rutger joined the B2B client portal, the state of our design was in a less-than-ideal place. Rutger reshaped the portal into a user-centered, beautiful, and usable product within days of joining our team. He is a very experienced designer who can immediately propose ideas and improvements, execute them, and always remains open to feedback. With his help, we started adopting and improving the company design system, which allowed us to speed up our development and ensure consistency.

Rutger has a calm demeanor, remains neutral in discussions, tries to incorporate ideas from the team, and reaches a consensus. We had high-pressure moments, before executive demos, for example, and he remained focused, guided other designers, and ensured strong designs were presented. Moreover, I really appreciated our conversations, mutual feedback, and heartfelt conversations. We developed a strong partnership where we could exchange ideas or just share laughs about life.
